Please join us and send a personal note to all your local legislators in the House and Senate to pass HB 607.  To make this task easier, we have created a template letter in MS Word and PDF formats as well as a supplemental NP Facts Sheet.  We also created an Advocacy Documents tab with a link to the documents attached to this email.

HB 607 allows advanced practice registered nurses to practice without written agreements with supervisory physicians: Independent Practice Authority.  To qualify, the nurses would need to have completed a graduate level course in pharmacology and have 2,000 hours of supervised practice in the preceding two years.

In short, the advanced practice registered nurses would be able, like physicians, to admit, manage and discharge patients at hospitals and other facilities, as well as prescribe medication, write orders and sign and certify documents such as death certificates.
